New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has increased MBBS seats at two Rajasthan-based medical colleges after the Rajasthan High Court issued directions to the Commission, asking it to issue the Letter of Permission for the increased seats.
Accordingly, the Apex Medical Education Regulatory Body has increased the MBBS seats at JIET Medical College and Hospital, Jodhpur from 50 to 100 MBBS seats. Further, NMC has increased 100 MBBS seats at Pacific Medical College and Hospital, Bhilo ka Bedla, Udaipur.
However, the NMC and the Central Government have filed a Second Appeal before the Division Bench of the High Court challenging the order and the matter is currently pending before the HC, the Commission further clarified.
