Manipur: Govt. Increases Hospitalization Benefits From Rs.2 Lakh To Rs.5 Lakh Per Family Per Year

Imphal: The Manipur State Government has decided to increase the free hospitalization benefit under the Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) schemes upto five lakh rupees per family per year. The Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) scheme is a health assurance scheme initiated by the Government of India.
The Scheme provides cashless treatment to the poor who are beneficiaries of the scheme at the empanelled hospital. Earlier, the scheme cover upto two lakh rupees per eligible family per year which has been increased to five lakh rupees.
Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh today made an official announcement to increase the free hospitalization benefit under the scheme at a press meet held at the Chief Minister's Secretariat. He said that the State Cabinet had decided to increase the benefit amount considering the success of the CMHT scheme in the past four years and its benefit to poor and vulnerable families of the state.

The Chief Minister further stated that the 5.24 Lakh poor beneficiaries had been enrolled under CMHT and more than 83,000 beneficiaries have received benefits of free hospitalizations in the last four years.
He also said that the Health for All Scheme, which was launched to provide door-to-door health screening for primary health care and chronic disease management will cover all villages of the state.

He further informed that the State Cabinet had approved to increase the corpus fund for Manipur Start-Up from earlier 30 crores to 100 crore rupees and rainwater harvesting methods would be set up in all offices, institutions, and schools to conserve water.
Each sub-division is headed by a Prabhari officer, which comprises IAS, IRS, IFS, MCS, and MFS officers. A family-wise survey would be conducted by Prabhari officers in coordination with local leaders to identify local needs. Every household has been provided with a source of livelihood through this step.
