ICMR - Rajendra Memorial Research Institute Of Medical Sciences To Hold PhD Registration Test For 2024, Apply Now

Patna- For the interested candidates who have to work at Rajendra Memorial Research Institute of Medical Sciences (RMRIMS) and get registered for PhD from Calcutta University, ICMR-RMRIMS is holding a PhD registration test on 26th October 2024. On this, ICMR-RMRIMS has released an giving detailed information about the PhD registration test.
To apply for the said test the candidate should fill out the application form from the ICMR-RMRIMS official website. After filling out the application form, the final printout of the form should be sent by post to the Director of ICMR-RMRIMS. Along with this, each page of the application form and documents (accept demand draft) should be signed by the candidate itself. The application form should be accompanied with the demand draft from the Nationalized Banks for Rs. 500/- of three months validity in favour of Director RMRIMS, payable at Patna. A demand draft for 200/- is acceptable from the SC/ST candidate, provided relevant documentary proof is enclosed. However, the drafts are not refundable.

Self-attested copies of the certificates or mark sheets should also be enclosed with the application and the SC/ST/OBC (Govt. of India) should be attached for relaxation/reservation. Two recent passport-size photographs should be enclosed. One of these should be signed by the candidate and pasted on the application form.
Application and all the documents should reach by post in an envelope on or before 6th Sept. 2024 up to 5 PM with the subject “Application for PhD programme 2024-25”. Incomplete application in any respect and application received after the closing date (due to any reason including postal delay) will be summarily rejected and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained. The decision of the admission committee will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
To be eligible for the PhD registration test the candidate must possess the following qualifications-
1 Students having 55% or above marks in minimum essential qualification (MBBS or M.Sc/ M.Tech/ M. Pharm. in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Zoology/ Life Sciences or equivalent recognized by UGC, India) are eligible to apply for this exam. However, SC/ST candidates having 50% or more marks in above mentioned degree are eligible to apply.
2 Candidates appearing in the final examination to secure minimum essential qualification this year may also apply; they will be admitted provisionally pending and satisfactory fulfilment of the above requirements at the time of joining will be needed.

SELECTION PROCEDURE
1 Candidates fulfilling minimum requirements will be invited for a written qualifying test at their own expense on 26th Oct. 2024 at RMRIMS, Patna.
2 The written test (100 marks objective type) is aimed at evaluating their knowledge in the respective field, and abilities to comprehend, analyse and reason based on the syllabus.
3 Results of qualified candidates will be available on the website of the Institute/ICMR as well as on the notice board of the Institute. Passed candidates will be called for an interview.
4 Selected candidates will be enrolled for the PhD programme of RMRIMS, in academic affiliation with the University of Calcutta.
Moreover, only 12 seats are available for the said exam, however, the number of seats is tentative, and subject to change at any time by the competent authority.
