Dr Amrita Aggarwal assumes charge as AIIMS Bibinagar Executive Director

Bibinagar:Renowned clinical immunologist and rheumatologist, DrAmita Aggarwal, formally assumed charge as the Executive Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bibinagar, Hyderabad, on Thursday. Faculty members and staff welcomed her warmly, expressing optimism that her leadership would further strengthen the institute’s growth and academic excellence. In September, Dr. Aggarwal, former Professor and Head of the Department of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow, was appointed to lead the institute. had previously reported that three eminent doctors from Lucknow have been appointed as Executive Directors of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) institutions located in Bibinagar, Patna, and Rae Bareli, marking a significant achievement for the city’s medical fraternity. Additionally, she has been actively involved with the Biomedical Informatics Centre in India as a co-investigator since January 2012, furthering research and development in biomedical sciences. Her contributions have been widely recognised; she is a recipient of the Shakuntala Amir Chand Award from the Indian Council of Medical Research and the National Bioscience Award for Career Development from the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. Dr. Aggarwal is also an elected fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India, and the National Academy of Medical Sciences.
