DME Tamil Nadu Extends Last Day Of Stray Vacancy Round For MBBS, BDS Admission

Tamil Nadu: The Director of Medical Education (DME Tamil Nadu) extended the last day of the stray vacancy round for MBBS and BDS admission.
As per the notice, DME received an MCC notification on 28.12.2022 to extend the stray vacancy round. The last date for the stray vacancy round for state counseling is extended till 29.12.2022 at 5:00 pm. The same is communicated to all institutions and candidates for information.
The List of Eligible Candidates, about 10 times of vacancy with details like (NEET Roll Number, Name, Mobile Number, and E-mail ID) are being provided to individual institutions for choosing candidates on a merit basis only and forwarding to Selection Committee with probable selected candidates for admission.
Institutions will have to communicate to all the candidates in the list sent by Selection Committee and obtain consent forms from all candidates about their options. The communication details should be provided to Selection Committee for reference.
Provisional allotment orders will be issued by the Selection Committee for the list of selected candidates sent by institutions after scrutiny.
Eligibility for NEET UG counseling –
1.Indian nationals can apply for Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS admission.
2.Non-residents of India (NRI) or Persons of Indian origin (PIO) are eligible for management/NRI quota seats.
3.Candidates 17 years or above are eligible as of 31st December 2022.
4.Candidates must pass class 12 with a minimum of 50% marks for the general category for Tamil Nadu MBBS 2022 admission. Students from SC/ST/OBC and PH categories need 40% and 45% marks in the class 12 examination.
5.Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects in class 12.
The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) is being conducted by NTA for admission to undergraduate medical education, with the approval of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and MHRD. No other test is valid for admission to UG courses. This test is conducted once a year.

The department also has a role to play in establishing and maintaining well-equipped teaching institutions, which are the premier referral centers with state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Research is another area of activity for the Medical Education Department.
