New Delhi: Through a recent notice, National Medical Commission (NMC) has directed all the Medical colleges/Institutes to fill in the details of the candidates who took admission in the special mop-up round 2 conducted for filling the 748 vacant seats of Super Specialty courses.
The apex medical regulator, NMC has notified that the portal shall be reopened from 2nd to 6th August 2022 for providing details of the candidates.
team had earlier reported that the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) had released the full schedule and detailed seat matrix of the 749 vacant seats for which it is going to conduct the special Mop-Up round 2 for NEET SS 2021 qualified candidates.
As per the Notice dated 21.07.2022 issued by Medical Counseling Committee, a special mop-up round II for filling 748 vacant seats of Super Specialty courses will be conducted from 30th July to 3rd August 2022.
Medical Counselling Committee of DGHS had conducted 2 rounds of Super Specialty (DM/ MCh/ DNB SS) seats followed by a Mop-up round and a Special Mop Up Round. However, still, 748 Super Speciality seats are vacant even after the completion of 4 rounds of Counselling. 1 seat has been added now to the seat matrix.
The National Board of Examinations (NBE) had reduced the cut-off for NEET SS 2021 by the 15th percentile and Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) held a special mop-up round in compliance with the Union Health Ministry order for filling up 930 vacant super speciality seats belonging to Government institutes.
The Health Ministry had made this decision based on the that even after the completion of all the rounds of NEET-SS 2021 Counselling around 1,000 super speciality seats were lying vacant because of the high cut-off marks.
Blaming the high cut-off marks responsible for the wastage of hundreds of seats, the doctors had been writing to the authorities in this regard and praying for a lowering of the cut-off percentile and arranging a stray vacancy round for filling up the vacant seats.
The Union Health Ministry took cognizance of the matter and wrote to the National Medical Commission (NMC) that the Health Ministry announced its decision of reducing the cut-off and conducting a special mop-up round for filling up the vacant seats.
Accordingly, all the Medical Colleges/Institutes in India are hereby informed that the online portal for filling up the details of candidates who took admission in PG Super Specialty courses, shall be reopened from 2nd to 6th August 2022.
All are requested to fill in the requisite data in the stipulated time.
No physical/manual data will be accepted whatsoever is the reason.
