Tanda Medical College Ranked 13 Among Top GMCs In India

Kangra: In a major development for the states health sector Dr. RP Govt Medical College, Tanda has been listed as 13th top medical college in Government sector as per Outlook-ICARE rankings, a ranking by the Outlook magazine, one of the top magazines of the country.
Dr. Bhanu Awasthi Principal of the Tanda Medical College told UNI that the most significantly it has been ranked as 6th in Academics and Research with only AIIMS New Delhi, IMS Banaras Hindu University, JIPMER Pondicherry, KGMC Lucknow and MAMC New Delhi ranked above it.

Dr Bhanu Awasthi Principal Dr. RP Govt Medical College while thanking the Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur for his constant support and guidance also thanked the Health Minister Rajeev Saizal for providing direction to the efforts of the administration of the institution to achieve this rare feat.
He also thanked local MLA Arun for always standing by the institution. Prof Awasthi also congratulated the faculty, staff and students of the institute for their efforts in bringing laurels to the institute.
Incidentally the institute, Dr. RP Govt Medical College, Tanda was ranked as 8th among emerging medical colleges in another survey conducted by the India Today Magazine most recently.
The institution over a period has set in place a process to oversee activities related to surveys and ranking which is headed by Dr. Sunil Raina, Professor and Head Community Medicine.
Dr. Awasthi was all praise for Dr. Raman Chauhan, Associate Professor for consistently responding to queries raised during the survey. As per Dr. Chauhan, the ranking was based on five broad parameters like Academic and Research Excellence, Industry interface and Placement, infrastructure and facilities, Governance & Admissions and diversity and outreach.
