Ajmer:Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani has announced the approval of Rs 191 crore for the development of a super-speciality block atJawaharlal Nehru Medical College Hospital, along with a helipad to handle medical emergencies. The announcement comes as a Diwali gift for the people of Ajmer. The hospital has already received Rs 50 crore for renovation and will be developed at a total cost of Rs 240 crore. On Sunday, Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani, upon his return to India, reviewed the progress of the super-speciality block at Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital in Ajmer. Following the review, the Finance Department approved Rs 191 crore for the construction of a super-speciality block. Earlier, the Finance Department had approved Rs 65 crore for the project, which has now been increased to Rs 191 crore. The hospital has also received both administrative and financial approval for the ongoing renovation work. A dedicated block will be created to treat diseases related to the eyes, ears, nose, throat, and face. According to Patrika, on the request of Assembly Speaker Devnani, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma had announced the establishment of a super-speciality block at Ajmer's Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital in the state budget. This is the first time since independence that such a large sum has been sanctioned for the hospital's development. Now, patients from the Ajmer division will not need to travel to Delhi or Jaipur for super-speciality services. Thousands of people will benefit from this. The super-speciality block will be constructed on the site of the current TB hospital. In the first phase, departments of Urology, Nephrology, and Neurology will be established. Subsequent phases will include the introduction of departments like Endocrinology, Oncology, and Plastic Surgery. The building will be fully air-conditioned, with the ground floor dedicated to the reception area, outpatient department (OPD), and diagnostic centres. Upper floors will feature intensive care units (ICUs), operating theatres, post-operative wards, and other critical facilities.
