RGUHS Notice on Withdrawal of Viva-Voce Marks

Bengaluru: Through a recent notice, the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) has informed about the withdrawal of Viva-Voce marks added to theory marks in the final examination of the Ayurveda UG course.

The notification issued by the Registrar of the Varsity clearly states:

As per the 2012 UG regulation of CCIM, students must secure 50% marks separately in theory and practical examinations. BOS and faculty of ISM took the decision of adding 50 viva-voce marks to theory, and the students scoring 50% of marks in theory including viva-voce marks were declared as pass. Such students who passed from RGUHS were refused registration by Assam Medical Council since the students had not scored 50% individually in theory. They were declared pass considering total marks scored in theory and viva together.

In pursuance of the decision of the Syndicate in its 153rd meeting held on 12/11/2020 and in exercise of the powers conferred under section 35(1) of the RGUHS Act, 1994, it was decided to withdraw 50 marks allotted to Viva-Voce which is added to theory with immediate effect and to strictly follow the UG regulation prescribed by CCIM.
