She was pursuing a BDS degree at Garhwa Medical College. The medico visited her hometown and was staying with her family due to the lockdown. UNI reports that the medico went out for a morning walk on Tuesday morning when she suddenly jumped into the well near St Francis School. Her body was fished out by the locals and the police were informed.

Her parents informed the Times Of India that the medico was suffering from depression for the last few months and she was receiving treatment for it as well. A senior psychiatrist of Rinpas, Siddhartha Sinha, stated, "The student must have been in a very low mood. She had not interacted with her parents for long and has not shared her problems with them. The trend of hopelessness and helplessness is getting common in this COVID period."

The investigation is still going on to find out what might have prompted the medico to take such a drastic step.

SSP S K Jha confirmed that the body has been sent for autopsy and a case will also be lodged based on the statement of the grieving parents of the deceased medico.
