Pharmacy Colleges Get Breather, PCI Extends Inspection Form Submission Deadline to November 10

New Delhi:The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has extended the deadline for submission of the Standard Inspection Form (SIF) on its official portal for pharmacy institutions seeking approval for the academic session 2026-2027. The last date for submission has now been pushed to November 10, 2025, in response to repeated requests from stakeholders across the country. The decision, conveyed through PCI Circular No. 14-56/2025-PCI (Approval Process for 2026-27 a.s.) dated October 31, 2025, applies to all existing pharmacy institutions, new institutions applying for the first time, examining authorities (universities/boards), and state governments. The Council stated that this extension comes after reviewing several earlier communications, including circulars dated September 12, October 3, and October 6, 2025, and in reference to the Supreme Court’s order dated September 8, 2025, in Parshavanath Charitable Trust and Ors vs AICTE and Ors on the academic calendar for technical institutions. The PCI has clearly mentioned that this will be the last opportunity for pharmacy institutions to submit their SIF applications for consideration in the upcoming academic year. Institutions that fail to submit the form by the revised date will not be considered for approval for the 2026–2027 session. The Council also advised applicants not to wait until the last date, warning that heavy portal traffic could slow down the server and disrupt submissions. Institutions facing technical issues while submitting the form have been directed to take a screenshot of the error and forward it only through the PCI grievance portal. The Council has emphasized that complaints or communications received via email or hard copy will not be accepted for future reference or in any legal proceedings. Only grievances lodged on the official portal will be acknowledged and acted upon. The circular, issued with the approval of the Competent Authority, was signed by Anil Mittal, Registrar-cum-Secretary, Pharmacy Council of India.
