New Delhi: AIIMS Nurses' Union held a protest over the hospital administration revoking suspension of five resident doctors in connection with their colleague's death due to alleged negligence at the premier institution.
The union also refused to accept the preliminary report by the committee headed by medical superintendent D K Sharma which ruled out any "intentional gross medical negligence" on part of the five doctors concerned claiming they have "evidence" against them which they will share publicly at the right time.
"We do not accept the preliminary report by the committee headed by medical superintendent D K Sharma. We will wait for the new broad-based Committee, which was constituted yesterday, under the chairmanship of Dr S C Sharma, HoD ENT at AIIMS to submit its report.
"We also had carried out an inquiry after the incident and we have some evidences which we will bring out in the public domain once the right time comes. This is a clear cut case of negligence which led to death of nurse Rajbir Kaur and we want justice for her," Harish Kumar Kajla, President of the Nurses Union said.
AIIMS administration had yesterday revoked the suspension of the five resident doctors after the Resident Doctors Association (RDA) went on partial strike and also threatened to shut all services including the emergency and critical care services if the order was not rolled back within 24 hours.

After the revocation orders were issued, RDA had called off their partial strike.
While issuing the orders, AIIMS had referred to the preliminary report by the committee which stated that based on available medical records that there was no substantial evidence of any intentional gross medical negligence by the treating team of doctors of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and anaesthesiology.
Rajbir Kaur, a nurse with AIIMS, had died during delivery through caesarean section. Kaur suffered a cardiac arrest during the surgery. During treatment, she lost her baby and was put on life support and died on Saturday night.
