Noida: Ophthalmologist Saved by Quick Intervention

In a recent occurrence, an ophthalmologist of a district hospital was saved by the quick intervention of his colleagues who rushed him for immediate medical attention when he experienced a heart attack during an eye surgery of a patient at the hospital.

The doctor in this case has been identified as Dr. Satyandra who unexpectedly displayed symptoms of a heart attack during surgery. However, his colleagues were able to intervene and nearly saved him from the dire situation.

On January 9, Dr. Satyandra was in the hospital's operation theatre for a patient's eye surgery when suddenly in the middle of the surgery, he started feeling sweaty and then complained of anxiety.

Dr. Satyandra managed to avoid a hazardous health condition after his colleagues immediately sent him to the emergency ward of the district hospital suspecting a serious medical condition.

There, he underwent an ECG test and subsequently, he was transferred to Felix Hospital in the city, where additional tests were conducted. The diagnosis revealed he had a blockage in an important artery connecting his heart to another organ following which an angioplasty was conducted to remove the blockage.

Speaking about his health status to India Today, Dr. D K Gupta, chairperson of the Felix Hospital said, "Dr. Satyendra's life was saved by the fast intervention of his colleagues. We found a 100 per cent blockage in an important artery connecting his heart to another organ, following which angioplasty was carried out to save his life. He is currently out of danger and is recovering".
