No Annual Declaration, No MBBS Permission: NMC Warns Medical Colleges

New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has now issued a strict warning to medical colleges stating that it will not grant permission for MBBS admission for the academic year 2024-2025 if the institutes fail to submit the Annual Declaration Form within the prescribed time.
Emphasizing that permissions for admission to MBBS courses for this academic year shall only be granted based on the Annual Declaration Forms, the Apex Medical Regulator has extended the deadline for this task to 18th April 2024.
NMC had first notified about the importance of the Annual Declaration Form through its notice dated 18.03.2024. Issuing the notice last month, the Commission had warned that no seat would be permitted if any medical college failed to submit the annual declaration within the deadline.
"All Medical Colleges/Institutes having valid Letter of Permission (LoP) for MBBS admission are hereby directed to fill the details/data of respective Institutions on NMC portal for annual declaration as required in the NMC Act, 2019 and various regulations issued by NMC from time to time. Submission of duly completed Annual Declaration Form of each College on NMC Portal is mandatory for annual renewal of permission of UG-MBBS seats. No seat shall be permitted in case the College/Institution fails to submit the Annual Declaration within the specified time period," the Apex Medical Commission had stated in the notice.

Later, through a notice dated 27.03.2024, NMC extended the deadline for submission of the Annual Declaration Form till 10th April 2024. Now, the Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) of NMC has again granted another extension of the deadline through the new notice dated 10.04.2024.
Yesterday, NMC issued another notice in continuation of the UGMEB Public Notices of even number dated 22nd March, 2024, 18th March, 2024 and 27th March, 2024 regarding the submission of Annual Declaration details/data of respective Institutions on the NMC portal as required in the NMC Act, 2019 and various regulations issued by NMC from time to time.
It highlighted that despite the extension granted, some of the medical colleges did not upload the requisite details on the Portal. In this regard, the Apex Medical Commission has issued a strict warning to the concerned colleges that permission for MBBS admission would not be granted for this academic year if the institutes do not submit the Annual Declaration Form.
"Despite extension of last date, some Colleges did not upload the details on the Portal. This has been viewed seriously by the Competent Authority. Permission for admission in MBBS course for the year 2024-25 shall not be granted to the Colleges/Institutes if they fail to submit Annual Declaration Form within prescribed time," UGMEB stated in the notice dated 10.04.2024.
Extending the deadline till 18th April 2024, the Commission further mentioned in the notice, "Since the permission for admission in MBBS Course for this Academic Year i.e. 2024-25 shall only be granted on the basis of Annual Declaration Form, all Colleges/Institutions are hereby directed to submit the details along with requisite fee including GST on NMC Portal latest by 18th April, 2024."
