New Delhi: Stating that the submission of the Annual Declaration Form on the National Medical Commission's (NMC) portal is mandatory for annual renewal of permission of undergraduate MBBS seats, the Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) of NMC has directed all medical colleges to fill their details on NMC portal.
The NMC has further warned that no seat will be permitted if any medical college fails to submit the annual declaration within the deadline.
"All Medical Colleges/Institutes having valid Letter of Permission (LoP) for MBBS admission are hereby directed to fill the details/data of respective Institutions on NMC portal for annual declaration as required in the NMC Act, 2019 and various regulations issued by NMC from time to time. Submission of duly completed Annual Declaration Form of each College on NMC Portal is mandatory for annual renewal of permission of UG-MBBS seats. No seat shall be permitted in case the College/Institution fails to submit the Annual Declaration within the specified time period," stated the NMC.
Apart from this, the Apex Medical Commission has also directed the medical colleges/institutes to pay the requisite fee of Rs 3,54,000 (including 18% GST) online through payment gateway of the portal along with application for permission of admission of seats for the UG courses for the year 2024-2025.
Issuing a notice on March 18, 2024, the Apex Medical Commission has mentioned that the last date to submit the details along with the requisite fee including the GST on NMC Portal is 31st March, 2024.
The Commission clarified that all the medical colleges must make the payment online irrespective of whether the payment has been made earlier or not. It also mentioned that no mode of payment other than payment gateway shall be acceptable. "Payment, if any, made earlier on account of Renewal/Recognition/Continuation of Recognition shall be refunded by the Accounts Division of NMC separately," NMC clarified in its notice.
As per the notice, the portal for annual declaration by the colleges may be accessed at URL mentioned in the notice.
AEBAS Registration
had earlier reported that Dr B Srinivas, Secretary, NMC had announced that a new portal would soon be launched by NMC and once it's opened every medical college will submit its data right from the very beginning of the inception of the college. All the data relevant will be individually and physically collected.
According to NMC officials, the new portal will have a biometric attendance system and the doctors will have to punch once in every 24 hours while entering or leaving the hospital.
Now, through the recent notice, NMC, directing medical colleges to submit details on NMC portal, has asked the institutes to register their AEBAS with the NMC otherwise they will not be able to access the portal.
"It is hereby intimated that colleges/Institutes which have not registered their AEBAS with NMC will not be able to access the portal. The username and the password of each medical college has already been shared with Nodal Officers of concerned colleges. The Colleges still not boarded on centralised AEBAS of NMC are to approach IT Division of NMC. A self explanatory user manual is provided on the Portal for step by step guidance to the users," the Commission further informed in the notice.
NMC further added that all the required information provided by the colleges/institutes on the assigned portal should be factual/sacrosanct and there should not be any mismatch between the data/details shared with different Boards of NMC.
"The Colleges will not be able to edit the data once the application is submitted on Portal. The data/details submitted by the Colleges may be subject to public disclosure, if decided by NMC," it further mentioned.
The Commission further informed all the medical colleges/Institutes that the requisite fee i.e. Rs. 3,54,000/- (including 18% GST) must be paid on-line through payment gateway of the portal only along with application for permission of admission of seats for UG courses for the year 2024-25 irrespective of whether the payment has been made earlier or not.
Stating that no mode of payment other than payment gateway shall be acceptable, NMC added that the last date to submit the details along with requisite fee including GST on NMC Portal is 31st March, 2024.
