NMC To Visit Hamirpur Medical College

Hamirpur: A team of the National Medical Commission formerly known as the Medical Council of India(MCI) will pay a visit to Dr. Radha Krishnan Medical College, Hamirpur for giving permission for admission of the fifth batch of students in the college.
Medical Superintendent Dr. Ramesh Chauhan said in a statement on Sunday that the NMC (National Medical Commission) conducts surprise inspections of the medical colleges and assesses the various set parameters. Only if the college fulfills these criteria is it allowed to admit students for a new batch.

He said that the colleges are evaluated on the basis of human resource, on infrastructure, patient care, and many other points, and if they meet the standards then permission is granted.
Dr. Chauhan said that the faculty strength and paramedic availability were adding that the medical college had full strength of paramedics. Apart from this, the number of faculty strengths is also quite satisfactory.
He informed that the teachers from Tanda Medical College and IGMC are deputed by the Himachal Pradesh Government to meet the requirement of NMC.
Dr. Chauhan said that this year faculty members from IGMC and Tanda Medical Colleges have been deputed for this inspection and all the members have been provided with suitable accommodation facilities to stay in Hamirpur. He said that there were some gazetted holidays in the past so the faculty members had gone back to their homes but now people are being benefitted as health services are being provided by the institution.
He said that all the basic needs of the faculty members were also being taken care of.
