NIRF 2024: Here Are Maharashtra Medical, Dental Colleges Ranked Among Top 50

Maharashtra in NIRF 2024 Rankings

Three medical colleges and six dental colleges in Maharashtra have been ranked among the top 50 in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024 rankings.

Top Medical Colleges

As per the NIRF 2024 ranking, the following medical colleges have been ranked in the top 50:

  • Dr D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth - 11th rank with 64.10 marks
  • Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education and Research - 23rd rank with 60.14 marks
  • Armed Forces Medical College - 30th rank with 57.68 marks

Top Dental Colleges

Similarly, the following dental colleges have been ranked in the top 50:

  • Government Dental College, Nagpur - 15th position with 58.5 marks
  • Government Dental College, Mumbai - 25th position with 53.54 marks
  • Nair Hospital Dental College - 28th position with 52.92 marks
  • Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) Dental College & Hospital, Pune - 36th position with 51.06 marks
  • Dr D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth - 72.55th position with 72.25 marks
  • Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education & Research - 24th position with 53.64 marks

The rankings of the top Dental Colleges and top medical colleges across India were recently disclosed in a press conference by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

NIRF Ranking Process

For 2024, the NIRF ranking process continues to provide a comprehensive "overall" ranking alongside specific rankings in categories such as universities, research institutes, degree colleges, innovation, and discipline-specific areas including engineering.

NIRF ranks institutions across the country on the following five broad categories of parameters identified in the NIRF and their weightage on a scale of 10:
