New Delhi: Rs 1 Crore Ex-Gratia To Hospital Dark Room Assistant Who Succumbed To COVID-19

New Delhi: In a commendable gesture, the Delhi government on Monday granted an ex-gratia amount of Rs 1 crore to the family of a 53-year-old city hospital employee, Rajeev Malhotra, who lost his life in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.
This significant act of compassion comes as part of the Delhi government's dedicated scheme designed for the Covid warriors who tragically lost their lives during these challenging times.

Rajeev Malhotra, who diligently served as a dark room assistant for 34 long years at a city hospital, became another unfortunate victim of the pandemic. After contracting the virus, Malhotra was admitted to the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital. Despite the best medical care, he succumbed to the disease on May 7, 2021. He was survived by his wife and their two sons.
The Delhi Social Welfare Minister, Raaj Kumar Anand, personally disbursed the ex-gratia amount to the grieving family members. T
“Arvind Kejriwal’s government stands firm with the people of the national capital in every difficult situation and provides support in every adversity. Kejriwal has become the son of Delhi in every possible aspect. He always thinks about the welfare of the city and its people and is deeply committed towards the welfare of every citizen,” Anand was quoted as saying in the statement.
