New Delhi : The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the Admitted Candidates List in Stray Vacancy Round Conducted by Deemed Universities for NEET and NEET PG counselling 2021.
The National Medical Commission has earlier issued guidelines for the determination of fees and all other charges in respect of 50 percent of the MBBS and PG medical seats in private medical institutions and deemed to be universities, governed under the NMC Act, 2019.
NMC, in its guidelines, has directed the institutions to not charge capitation fees at all costs while following the 'not for profit' agenda for the impartation of medical education.
Listing down the operating costs at medical colleges keeping in view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and consequent halt on the medical education sector, the NMC has asked the respective State Fee Regulatory Authorities to consider the average audited financial result of the previous three years, with appropriate inflation adjustment.
The guidelines further spell out instructions for fixating the salaries of teaching and non-teaching staff at the medical colleges for determining the fee structure for medicos.
Additionally, the NMC guidelines specify calculations of depreciation of assets, loans, revenue expenditure, interest costs, security deposit as well as hostel and other facility charges being imposed on students.
As per Section 10(1)(i) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) Act, 2019, the Commission shall frame guidelines for determination of fees and all other charges in respect of fifty per cent. Of seats in private medical institutions and deemed to be universities which are governed under the provisions of this Act.
According to the NMC notification, the Central Government had requested the erstwhile Board of Governors in supersession of erstwhile Medical Council of India (MCI BoG) to prepare the draft fee fixation guidelines for the consideration of the NMC as and when constituted.
An Expert Committee was constituted by the BoG-MCI on 23rd Nov, 2019 and later, by NMC in this regard. The Expert Committee recommended a total of 26 broad draft guidelines for the determination of fees for MBBS and Post Graduate (PG) Courses and other charges in respect of private medical colleges and deemed to be Universities, which were uploaded in the NMC Website on 25.05.2021 for inviting public comments. The Commission received approximately 1800 responses from General Public/Medical Ins titutions/ Association.
