Medical colleges offer Post-graduate doctors stipends to help them manage their expenses while they work hard and study. The NEET PG 2023 counselling is in progress, and Assam offers 663 seats available for MD and MS courses as of 2022. Selecting a college for MD or MS can be tedious, and aspirants must consider many factors before choosing it. The stipend offered can also be a critical decision-making factor along with the fees, hospital attached, patient exposure and the location.
The state government of Assam aims to set up one medical college in every district of Assam. The Government plans to build 24 new medical colleges within the next five years to meet this aim. This development will create more opportunities for medical professionals and improve the state's healthcare. This will even increase the number of undergraduate and postgraduate medical seats, ultimately leading to better care and treatment for the people of Assam.
