MCC Special NEET Stray Vacancy Round Counselling, Notice Issued For Candidates Seeking Conversion Of Indian To NRI Category

Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued a notification for related to the conversion from Indian to NRI for the Special Stray Round of NEET UG Counselling 2023.
As per the notice, all the candidates who are claiming to be NRI as per the directions/orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the case (W.P. (C) No.689/2017- Consortium of Deemed universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs Union Of India & Ors.) dated 22-08-2017 should send their relevant documents as mentioned below, in support of their claim to change nationality from Indian to NRI through email ug.nri.mcc@gmail.com from 12:00 Noon of 31st Oct., 2023, till 12:00 Noon of 1st Nov., 2023.
All such candidates are advised to be in touch with the MCC website for further course of action. Mails received before/ after the stipulated time will not be considered. Candidates are strictly advised to send all documents enclosed in a single mail only within the stipulated time. Mails received in piecemeal and in duplicate will not be considered.

The following conditions are required to be met by the candidates applying for a change of their category (Indian to NRI) –
As per the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the case (W.P. (C) No.689/2017- Consortium of Deemed universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union Of India & Ors.) dated 22-08-2017 and principles set out in Anshul Tomar (supra) case.
The candidates applying for conversion are required to furnish the documents in the format provided in Annexure I in the notice below.
Candidates whose nationality has already been converted to NRI in earlier rounds need not send their documents again.
The conversion of the Nationality of candidates from ‘Indian’ to ‘NRI’ is ‘Provisional’ based on the documents submitted by the candidates, which will be verified by the allotted college authorities at the time of reporting and the Embassy Certificate from the sponsorer may be sent to the Ministry of External Affairs/ respective High Commissions for verification. If found ‘FAKE’, the Provisional Allotment of the candidate may be cancelled, and legal action might be initiated by the competent authority.
The list of documents to be sent through mail –
1. Documents claiming that the sponsorer is an NRI (Passport, Visa of the )
2. Relationship of NRI with the candidate as per the court orders of The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in case W.P.(c) No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Ans. Vs Union of India & Ors. dated 22-08- 2017
3. Affidavit from the sponsorer that he/ she will sponsor the entire course fee of the candidate duly notarized
4. Embassy Certificate of the Sponsorer (Certificate from the Consulate issued within the last 06 months)
5. NEET Score Card of the candidate
6. Family Tree notarized by Tehsildar
