Chennai- Recently, a medical aspirant was arrested for allegedly showing a fake National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) scorecard and certificate to get admission into Madras Medical College.
A Class XII student who has been identified as an aspirant from Medavakkam in Chennai had presented a fake NEET scorecard to get admission into Madras Medical College. The matter came to light when him and his parents visited the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University office to seek MBBS admission to the Madras Medical College (MMC).

As per the ETV Bharat media news report, he submitted a scorecard showing 698 marks out of 720 in the NEET exam in 2023, while in reality, he had actually scored only 129 marks. As soon as it was discovered that the NEET scorecard was fake, the college administration immediately informed the police and Dr Karamath, Deputy Director of Medical Education in Kilpauk.
After the Deputy Director of Medical Education confirmed that both the NEET scorecard and the admission certificate were fake, the police filed a complaint against him on behalf of the Directorate of Medical Education. During the investigation, it was revealed that as he was not happy with his NEET score, he planned to make a fake marksheet. Therefore, he had allegedly inflated his marks to 698 in an attempt to get admission into the prestigious medical college.
The investigation also revealed that Laxsai had sought help from two of his friends, one of whom was an employee of a photocopy shop in Thiruvanmiyur and the other an employee of a private medical college in Palavakkam, in preparing the forged documents. Currently, both are in the absconding.
Meanwhile, he has been charged under five sections of the BNS, however, the parents were unaware of their son's plan. Police are conducting a thorough investigation to find out if the accused persons were involved in making fake mark sheets earlier as well.
