Ghaziabad:A shockingallegation has been levelled againstMax Hospitalin Vaishali, Ghaziabad, following the death of a one-month-old baby two days ago. The family alleged that even after the baby was declared dead at 4 PM, hospital staff continued to demand money for treatment until 6 PM. According to the family, the hospital behaved insensitively and misled them after the child's death. They also claimed there were discrepancies in the hospital’s paperwork and records. The situation worsened when the hospital management initially refused to provide physical medical files, stating that all records were maintained only on the computer. However, following protests and public pressure, the hospital handed over the files. So far, Max Hospital has not given a detailed statement, and local authorities have not confirmed whether a formal inquiry will be conducted. Max Healthcare, the group operating Max Hospital Vaishali, has faced scrutiny in the past. Separate incidents at other Max facilities have led to license cancellations and government investigations for medical negligence. had reported that the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (DCDRC), North-East Delhi, directed Max Super Speciality Hospital to pay compensation to a patient who underwent treatment at the hospital after sustaining injuries in a road accident. The patient in his complaint alleged that after undergoing the treatment at Max Hospital, he was diagnosed with a dislocated acromio-clavicular joint with a superiorly displaced clavicle and edema at a second hospital. Even though the hospital claimed that the patient was managed conservatively as per the referral and advice given by an Orthopaedician, the Commission noted that there was no evidence on record to establish their case and awarded the patient Rs 1,25,000 as compensation and Rs 50,000 as legal cost for deficiency in service.
