JIPMER Karaikal MBBS classes to begin on September 26

Karaikal:The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) has announced that the First Semester MBBS classes at the Karaikal campus for the academic year 2025-26 will begin on 26th September 2025 (Friday). Attendance will be recorded from this date, and students are advised to frequently check the JIPMER Karaikal academic website for updates before starting their journey. This ensures students remain informed and prepared for the commencement of their studies. "This is to inform that the First Semester MBBS classes will commence from 26.09.2025 (Friday). Attendance for the students will be calculated from the above mentioned date," the notice read. At the time of admission, JIPMER students are required to pay a total of 14,920 rupees, which includes a one-time admission fee of 5,000 rupees, a refundable caution deposit of 3,000 rupees, and an identity card fee of 150 rupees, along with annual charges such as tuition fee (1,200 rupees), JIPMER Students Association fee (2,000 rupees), learning resource fee (2,000 rupees), corpus fund (70 rupees), and student information fee (1,500 rupees). From the second year onwards, students need to pay only the recurring annual charges, amounting to 6,770 rupees per year.
