Kupwara: Following a surprise inspection at a New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) in Gushi by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, two doctors and three paramedics were suspended after they were found absent from their duty during the commissioner's visit.
The instructions were given by the District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Kupwara, as the employees were found to be absent without taking any permission from the official authorities.

The DC paid the surprise visit to the centre at 2.45 pm on Monday, following which the commissioner directed the concerned BMO for appropriate action under the rules. The BMO suspended the five employees under endorsement No.BMOK/3245-47 dated 30-01-2023.
The suspended employees have been identified as Dr. Latief Ahmad, Medical Officer; Dr. Imet Pal Singh, Dental Surgeon; Muneer Ah Nomani, Sup. Pharmacist; Mohd Sultan Bhat, Male Nurse and Hafeeza Begum. They have been placed under suspension till further enquiries, reports the Daily Excelsior.
The salary of the five employees for the month of January 2023 has also been withheld till further directions.

The man pretending to be a doctor had uploaded his documents on the portal hoping to get verified on the ABDM portal, but the scheme backfired when the state medical council caught his trick red-handed. While verifying the certificates, the state medical council found that a 49-year-old doctor from Bandipora district who claimed to have an MBBS certificate from the University of Kashmir in March 2007 was a fake one.
