Shimla Medical Updates
PET scan facilities will soon be available at Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital Shimla, as an outlay of Rs 70 Cr has been allocated in the new budget estimates by the government, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said on Saturday.
The Chief Minister stated that for the 2021-22 budget estimates in the Assembly, PET Scan facilities would be available in all top institutions so that people don't have to go outside the state for the same.

He mentioned that a Rs 700 Cr Super specialty hospital is coming up in Shimla, and AIMS and PG center is being developed in Una. He also noted that a Special SPL ward would be commissioned this year.
The Rs 700 honorarium for Asha workers has also been increased by the state in the budget. Additionally, the special honorarium for PG doctor students was increased by Rs 5000. The outlay of Rs 3016 Cr for Health services by the State Government is also included in the budget estimates.
