Jabalpur High Court Issues Notice to Medical Colleges
The principal bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court has issued notice to Gajraraja Medical College and Datia Medical College for alleged violation of reservation rules in the appointment of staff nurses.
The notice was issued in response to a petition filed by High Court advocate, Rameshwar Singh, after some applicants complained about the issue.
The recruitment for the posts, for 238 nurses in Gajraraja Medical College hospital and 172 nurses in Datia Medical College hospital, was released, and the recruitment list was published thereafter.

As per reservation rules, the merit list should display the names of students beating the cut-off score. However, the petition claimed that the said medical colleges have prepared separate cutoffs for different categories.
Singh in his plea submitted, "These medical colleges violated reservation rules. Girls from SC/ST quota who figured in the merit list were counted in the reserved quota thereby leaving several other aspirants out of job."
He further added that the present recruitments cannot be made final unless a decision is taken by the court on the issue.
According to a recent media report in The Free Press Journal, the court has scheduled the next hearing for 26th October.
