Hyderabad:TheTelangana High Courtrecently issued directions toKaloji Naryana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS)to consider the representation of a student seeking admission into the MBBS/BDS course under the 'B' category of the management quota for the academic year 2025-26. Such a direction was issued by the HC bench after the counsel for the University submitted before the court that the representation made by the concerned student would be considered in accordance with the law. The plea was filed by a 19-year-old student who hails from the Khammam district. He argued that he inadvertently failed to register for admission under the specified quota. Further, he submitted a representation to the University on August 21, 2025, requesting to be allowed to register for counselling. However, getting no response from the University, the student approached the High Court bench seeking relief, directing the University to allow him to appear for counselling without causing prejudice to other eligible candidates. Also Read: NEET 205 admissions: KNRUHS releases provisional merit list, eligible, ineligible candidates lists As per the latest media report byThe Times of India, the plea came up for hearing before the Division bench of the HC comprising Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice GM Mohiuddin on September 12. During the hearing, the counsel for KNRUHS informed the Court that the representation made by the student would be handled in accordance with the law. After taking note of the submissions from both parties and considering the peculiar facts of the case, the HC bench directed the University to decide on the petitioner's representation within two days and disposed of the plea. Further, the bench directed KNRUHS to act on the concerned representation by the student in compliance with a recent Supreme Court judgment in the case of the State of Telangana vs Kalluri Naga Narasimha Abhiram. Earlier this month, the Supreme Court, through this ruling, validated the State's medical admission rules on the local candidates' quota.
