Haryana Health Minister Inaugurates Family Planning Logistics Information Systems

In Haryana, as compared to 2014, the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) has reduced from 41 to 33 and the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) has reduced from 125 to 101- Anil Vij

Chandigarh: Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij Wednesday inaugurated the Family Planning Logistics Management Information System (FP-LMIS) here which will ensure availability, supply and monitoring of family planning services from the state level to the Accredited Social Health Activists' (ASHA) level.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony here, Vij said the system would provide online information about medicines and family planning services, including injectable contraceptives, condoms, oral contraceptive pills, intrauterine contraceptive devices, emergency contraceptive pills, tubal rings and pregnancy testing kits.

He said the national percentage in modern family planning methods is 47.8 per cent while it was 59.4 per cent in Haryana.

Vij added that the health parameters in Haryana laid proved the amount of work done by the state government in the health sector.

In Haryana, as compared to 2014, the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) has reduced from 41 to 33 and the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) has reduced from 125 to 101, he said.

Criticising the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government in Delhi, Vij told reporters that "OPDs in Haryana have increased by 20 per cent and In-Patient Departments by 21 per cent, while Delhi government has not done any work in the health sector."

"Kejriwal has opened mohalla clinics in Delhi where animals and humans could be seen together," he alleged.
He also said Kejriwal must prove his claims that pollution from the burning of crop residue in Haryana and Punjab reaches Delhi.

"Kejriwal always hides his mistakes by blaming others. He should also pay attention to health centres and schools in Delhi," Vij said, hitting out at Kejriwal, who had criticised the "bad shape" of primary health centres in Haryana during his recent visits to the state.
