Bidar:After being found guilty in a medical negligence case, an obstetrician and gynaecologist at the Government Mother and Child Hospital in Basava Kalyana has been suspended and transferred to another healthcare facility on charges ofdereliction of duty. According to an order issued by the Commissioner of the Health and Family Welfare Department, the doctor has been transferred to the Community Health Centre at Kudalasangama in Hungund taluk of Bagalkot district. An enquiry conducted into the matter found the doctor guilty, leading to his suspension,Deccan Heraldreports. The order also directed the doctor not to leave headquarters without prior permission from the competent authority. had previously reported that Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak announced that orders have been issued for the termination of 26 medical officers across various districts due to unauthorised absences and negligence in their duties. also reported that six government doctors came under scrutiny after Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav accused them of corruption, absenteeism, dereliction of duty and issuing illegal disability certificates.
