Rohtak:On charges of framing a doctor and his wife in a false pregnancy termination case, the Director of Haryana Health Department, the Fatehabad de-addiction centre in-charge, and a clerk from the Civil Hospital have beenbookedin a forgery and cheating case, following a court order. The accused allegedly demanded bribes in 2017 from Dr Sanjeev Kumar, who runs a private hospital in Bhuna and is the complainant in the case. When Kumar refused to pay, the then Chief Medical Officer filed a false case under the MTP Act against him and his wife. In January 2020, Dr Kumar lodged a complaint at the Chief Minister’s Window regarding improper medical practices. The government appointed the director of the health department to investigate the complaint. Instead of conducting a fair inquiry, Dr Kumar alleged that he was called in 2023, where the trio prepared a statement and asked him to sign it. When he refused, they allegedly forged his signatures and submitted the statement to the CM Window to close the complaint. Later, Dr Kumar obtained documents under the Right to Information Act and discovered discrepancies. A fingerprint expert in Hisar confirmed that the signatures were fake. In 2023, he had filed a complaint at Bhuna police station, and the police had asked him and the clerk to join the probe. The case was disposed-off on December 22, 2023, citing that the doctor has no role. Then, he approached the court seeking justice. After hearing the matter, a Fatehabad court directed the police to register an FIR against the trio under BNS sections related to forgery and cheating. Speaking toHT, Dr Kumar said, "I had lodged a complaint at the chief minister’s window in January 2020 related to improper medical practices, and I was called by the doctor, who was assigned the investigation. The CMO clerk prepared a statement, and the trio asked me to sign on the statement, but I refused. Later, I came to know that they forged my signature and submitted the same at the CM window to close the complaint. I obtained documents under the Right to Information Act, and the fingerprint experts in Hisar probed and found that the signatures were bogus."
