
DNB, DrNB Final Theory Exam April 2023: NBE Extends Last Date Of Thesis Submission

Delhi: National Board of Examinations (NBE) has extended the last date for thesis submission for the 2nd time for candidates scheduled to appear in DNB, DrNB Final Theory Examination in April 2023.
The last date for thesis submission for the 2020 admission session is extended till the 3rd of April 2023 (Till 11:55 PM). Previously the extension was given till 31st March 2023. No further extension will be given, and those trainees who do not submit their thesis by 3rd April 2023 will be rendered 'ineligible' to appear in DNB Final Theory Examination in April 2023.
Writing a thesis is essential for all DNB trainees towards the partial fulfillment of eligibility for the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) Degree. DNB Broad Specialty (Post MBBS) Trainees of the 2020 admission session have been scheduled to appear in DNB Final Theory Examination - April 2023 as already notified vide NBEMS notice dated 26.10.2022.

The Government of India established the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) in 1975 to improve the quality of Medical Education by setting high and uniform standards of postgraduate examinations in modern medicine on an all-India basis utilizing existing infrastructure for capacity building. NBEMS currently conducts postgraduate and postdoctoral examinations in approved specialties leading to the award of Diplomate of National Board (DNB) and Doctorate of National Board (DrNB), respectively. The Examinations conducted by NBEMS provide a common standard and mechanism of evaluation of the minimum level of attainment of the knowledge and competencies of medical specialties.
The nomenclature of the qualification awarded by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is "Diplomate of National Board" (DNB), "Doctorate of National Board" (DrNB) & "Fellow of National Board" (FNB). These qualifications awarded by NBEMS in various Broad Specialties, Super specialties, and Sub-Specialties are approved by the Government of India and included in the First Schedule of IMC (repealed) Act 1956 / NMC Act 2019.
