Tamil Nadu: The Director of Medical Education (DME Tamil Nadu) will begin the refund process for MBBS and BDS candidates for the 2022-2023 session. The tentative list of eligible candidates for refund has also been released.
As per the notice, the refund portal will be open on 4.2.2023. The candidates note that Application fees & Processing fees are non-refundable.
Candidates who discontinued/did not join the allotted course during or after Round II of UG allotment has forfeited their tuition fee and a Security deposit as per Govt. quota prospectus clause 14 III (g) & Management quota prospectus of clause 12 III (g). Hence, they are not eligible for a refund.
For candidates who have joined the course, their fees will be transferred to the respective institutions. And for those who have moved from one category to another, the fee difference only, if any, will be refunded to the individual candidates.

As a 1st step, DME had asked the candidates to inform about any discrepancies (in the name details or if any candidate’s name is left out of the list). The candidates were asked to mail till 31.1.2023 at 5.00 pm.
The tentative list of eligible candidates for refund has also been released. The list includes NEET ROLL NO, APP NO, and NAME. According to the list, a total of 6606 candidates are eligible for a refund; The detailed list is enclosed in the notice below.

The department also has a role to play in establishing and maintaining well-equipped teaching institutions, which are the premier referral centres with State of the art equipment and technology. Research is another area of activity for the Medical Education Department.
Recently team reported that after completing all the counselling rounds for BDS admission for the academic year 2022-23 seats remain vacant. The counselling authorities failed to fill all the seats allotted for the BDS course. 547 seats remain vacant, including government quota seats, the Director of Medical Education (DME Tamil Nadu) has shared this in their media interactions.
