Develop app for cashless payments for medical tests, says CM Sukhu

Shimla: Chief MinisterSukhvinder Singh Sukhuhas directed the state health department to develop an application within a month to facilitate convenient online payments for medical tests atgovernment hospitals, officials said on Tuesday. The Chief Minister stated that once the application is launched, people will no longer have to stand in long queues at hospitals to pay for tests and will receive high-quality and seamless healthcare services. The state government was undertaking several reforms in the health sector and equipping medical colleges and hospitals with state-of-the-art machinery so that citizens do not need to travel outside the state for treatment, the spokesperson added. had earlier reported that Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced that all state medical colleges will be upgraded within a year with advanced facilities, staff, and infrastructure. Robotic surgery will be expanded, automated labs worth Rs 25 crore each will be set up in Chamiyana, Hamirpur, and Chamba, and a Critical Care Block in Chamba will be completed by October. Rs 100 crore will be allocated for an Academic Block, and hostels for doctors and staff will be built. New nursing colleges will start in Nahan, Hamirpur, Kullu, and Chamba next session. The government will address staff shortages and ensure international doctor-patient ratios so people can access modern healthcare within the state.
