Rohini: In an unfortunate incident, the fraternity has lost two medical professionals recently in a case which appears to be a murder-suicide wherein a senior physician, who owned Nirvana Hospital in Rohini; allegedly committed suicide after murdering his colleague, who was working as an HR Director at the hospital.
The doctor reportedly used his licensed gun for the extreme steps over being pressured by the extramarital affair.
After conducting preliminary investigations, the police have reportedly found that the 62-year-old doctor and his 50-year-old colleague were having an extramarital affair for over a decade. Of late, the physician allegedly felt pressured by the HR to marry her while he was trying to end the relationship.
According to the forensic department, the physician had shot the woman in the chest and neck before killing himself with his licensed revolver.
The media reports suggest that they went together to attend a wedding on November 3rd. Afterwards, they both went incommunicado, reports TOI
The Police officials informed the TNIE that a PCR call was received at 7.36 am about a "duo in a white sedan, which was in ignition, with visible bloodstains on the window".
When the police arrived and broke open the car window, they found the doctor dead on the driver's seat with a gunshot wound to his right temple and his licensed revolver on the car's floor. The woman was found slumped on the adjacent seat. She had been shot twice, in the chest and neck.
"Wedding guests confirmed the two were in attendance, and they left around 11 pm. We are trying to ascertain the time of death and analysing call records to determine the sequence of events afterwards," the police officials added.
However, the police have been told by some people known to the doctor that the HR was allegedly misappropriating hospital money and that he got to know of it. "But we are yet to verify these claims," SD Mishra, Deputy Commissioner of Police informed HT.
The DCP said prima facie, there was no involvement of a third person.
