DCI Directs Dental Colleges To Provide Info Of Foreign Students Enrolling For MDS Courses

DCI Notice to Dental Colleges

Delhi: Dental Council of India Notice

The Dental Council of India has recently released a direction for all dental colleges in the country that offer post-graduate programs and have admitted foreign nationals to the same.

The letter, dated 5th November 2021, was addressed to all the dental colleges running MDS Courses/PG Diploma Courses in India, for the academic session 2021-22.

The Dental Council of India, which is the statutory body for all decisions concerning dental education in the country, had directed all dental colleges to upload the details of students admitted by them immediately after their respective rounds of counselling are over on or before Wednesday, 10th November 2021.

According to the letter, the DCI has observed and acknowledged that certain colleges may encounter hindrances in uploading the online details on the DCI website after admissions of a foreign student in the absence of registration with the respective State Dental Council.

As a solution to this issue, the DCI has directed these colleges to submit the admission details of such students via email at secy-dci@nic.in on or before November 10th, 2021.

"Keeping in view of hardship to be faced by the colleges in uploading the details of admission to MDS Course in respect of foreign student for the academic year 2021-22 on or before 10.11.2021, it has been decided that if any dental college faces any difficulty in uploading such details only in respect of foreign student, such dental college is hereby advised to send complete details of admission of such foreign student to this Council by email only secy-dci@nic.in on or before 10.11.2021. It may also be again noted this relaxation is applicable only to an admission to MDS Course of foreign student not for Indian student," the DCI notice read.

The notice was signed by the Joint Secretary, DCI, Ms. M.L. Meena.
