Barwani:In a tragic incident, a woman working as a Community Health Officer (CHO) allegedly ended her life by jumping into the Narmada river from the 301-foot-high bridge in Chhoti Kasrawad village of Barwani district. According to news reports, the incident took place around 9:30 AM on Wednesday. The deceased, identified as a resident of Kalyanpura village, reportedly had an argument with her husband, apaediatrician, over a mangalsutra earlier that morning. Following the dispute, she left home on her scooter and headed towards the Narmada bridge, where she parked her vehicle and jumped into the river. Eyewitnesses immediately alerted nearby boatmen and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team stationed near the bridge. Rescuers managed to pull her from the river and rushed her to the hospital, but doctors declared her dead on arrival. They have two children. He added, "She was very sensitive by nature, but she was always responsible towards her work and family. Taking such a step on a festival like Diwali is nothing short of a shock for us." According to villagers, she was known for her gentle nature and friendly personality.
