Banglore: The results of COMEDK PGET exam for the year 2016- 17 are out. Results can be accessed at the official website of COMEDK www.comedk.org
The PGET exam in Karnataka is conducted by Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) which has been formed by the Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association, in their endeavour to offer an effective, fair and objective testing procedure to determine merit of students seeking admission to the member institutions. This year PGET was conducted an online computer based test for admisssion process. The exam saw
TOI reports that all the three top ranks in the PGET 2016-17 were bagged by students from Karnataka, while In PGET (dental), the first three ranks went to students from other states.Rachel Althea Sequeira from Mangaluru has topped the medical stream. Siddharth Datta Bandodkar from Goa has topped the dental category.
Hindu reports that overall, as many as 8,199 (50 per cent) candidates in medical and 1,949 (44 per cent) candidates in dental, who have written the test held on January 17 across 72 cities, qualified for participating in the COMEDK seat selection process. Of these, 2,006 (24 per cent) candidates in medical and 300 (15 per cent) candidates in dental are from Karnataka.
This years cut-off rank for the medical and dental exams for the general cateogries were 985, and 2,382 respectively.
