Centre Considering Establishment Of Second Medical College In Pasighat: MoS Health

Rottung: During a recent visit to the the Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, Union Minister of State (MoS) for Health & Family Welfare, Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar informed that the central government is currently considering the option of setting up a second medical college in Pasighat.
Responding to concerns regarding the establishment of a medical college in Pasighat, Dr Bharati provided reassurance to the public that she would actively pursue the matter of the proposed medical college in Pasighat with the central government.
“The government has already established the first medical college in Itanagar, while it is taking the proposed medical college in Pasighat into consideration," she told The Arunachal Times.
The statement was made while attending the ‘Ayushman Samvad (meeting)’ at Rottung village in Siang district — located 45 km distant from Pasighat (East Siang district HQ).

She was accompanied by Arunachal East MP Tapir Gao, Health Minister Alo Libang, Pangin-Boleng MLA Ojing Tasing, Rumgong MLA Talem Taboh, and a host of government officials.
"During my visit to the Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh participated in Sewa Aapke Dwar 2.0 and Ayushman Samvad programme along with Hon'ble Health Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Shri AloLibang ji; Hon'ble MP Shri TapirGao ji and Hon'ble MLAs Shri OjingBJP and Shri Talem," tweeted Dr Bharati.
"The locals were made aware of Government schemes and the entitled benefits. Distributed Ayushman Bharat PMJAY Cards and certificates to the eligible beneficiaries of the government schemes," she added in her tweet.
Further, the minister said that the PM-Jan Arogya Yojana includes about four lakh beneficiaries in Arunachal Pradesh out of which, over one lakh Ayushman cards have already been issued.
“There are 62 empanelled hospitals (both government and private) in the state and around Rs 7 crore have been paid as medical reimbursement,” she informed.
Afterwards, Pawar and her team went to Boleng, the headquarters of Siang district, to inspect the ongoing construction of the district hospital. They held a thorough review meeting with the administrative officers and Heads of Departments (HoDs) who were present at the location.
