The J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) will begin the admission process for Post Basic BSc Nursing Courses-2023 in the Government / Private Colleges/Institutions of UT of J&K. Online applications are invited from candidates who are willing to take the course.

The online application process will begin on 25-05-2023 and close on 15-06-2023 (Midnight). Candidates must pay a fee of Rs. 1000 online through National Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking. The e-Information Brochure can be downloaded from the official website of the Board, www.jkbopee.gov.in.

The entrance examination/test syllabus is available in the e-Information Brochure. The date of the Common Entrance Test, if any, conducted by the Board will be notified separately. The notification for downloading online electronic admit cards will be issued separately. The exam will be conducted offline at Jammu / Srinagar centers simultaneously, as may be decided by the Board.

Before filling out the application form, candidates must go through the e-Information Brochure. The Board will not be responsible for any act of omission or commission in filling up the online application form by the candidates. It is incumbent upon the candidates to go through the information contained in the e-Information Brochure and agree to the conditions contained therein.

The online application form shall be purely provisional and is liable to be canceled at any stage, subject to the board's final verification of the documents and even at any stage where such a document is proved to be fake/false.

In case the Board does not conduct the entrance test, eligible candidates will be selected based on the merit secured by the candidates in the Qualifying Examination as mentioned in the eligibility criteria.

Candidates who submit incorrect/wrong information during the online filling up of the application form will have their candidature rejected without any further notice. However, they can rectify their errors, if any, by submitting a representation physically at the BOPEE office in Jammu / Srinagar on or before the last date fixed by the Board for filling up the online application forms.

Mere submission of the application form and appearance of the aspiring candidates in the entrance test will not confer any preferential right/claim upon them for admission. It will be subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria and the qualification prescribed for the said course.

Documents to be Uploaded

The following documents (scanned original/self-attested certificates in PDF format with sizes from 100-200 KB) must be uploaded along with the application form:

  • Domicile of UT of J&K / UT of Ladakh as the case may be (For Candidates of UT of Ladakh, ST Certificate issued by the Competent Authority of Ladakh shall be treated as Domicile Certificate)
  • Qualifying marks Certificate (12th Class) (where the result has been declared)
  • Date of Birth Certificate (only Matriculation Certificate issued by the Board)
  • All GNM Marks Cards
  • Valid Reserved Category Certificate, if any
  • Any other documents, as may be required

Note that the afore-titled documents required for submission of the application form shall be considered provisional and subject to changes, if any, as may be notified by the Government subsequently.

Eligibility

A candidate must be:

  • Domicile of UT of J&K/UT of Ladakh as the case may be (For Candidates belonging to UT of Ladakh, ST certificate issued by Competent Authority of Ladakh shall be treated as Domicile Certificate)
  • Have passed 10+2 or Equivalent Examination from a Recognized Board, obtained a Certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) Examination, and Registered as R.N.R.M. with J&K Paramedical Nursing Council. A male Nurse, trained before the implementation of the new Integrated Course besides being registered as a Nurse with J&K Paramedical Nursing Council, shall produce evidence of training approved by the Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of midwifery in any one of the areas such as O.T. Techniques, Ophthalmic Nursing, Leprosy Nursing, T.B. Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Neurological and Neuro Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Cancer Nursing, Orthopaedic Nursing
  • Be medically fit

Reservation will be only applicable to Govt. Colleges/ Institutions for the examination as given in the e-Information Brochure. If the Board conducts the entrance examination, it will be conducted in one sitting of two hours, and the paper will contain 120 questions comprising different sections.

The eligibility is the bare minimum and will be subject to such changes/benchmarks as may be fixed by the concerned Competent Authority. On receipt of any such communication from the concerned Authority, the Board will notify the same, which will govern the eligibility criteria.

Original Documents Required at Admission

Original documents required to be submitted to the institution at the time of admission:

  • All Marks Certificates of the GNM Course
  • Marks Card of 12th Class
  • Date of birth (only Matriculation Certificate issued by the Board)
  • Domicile Certificate for candidates belonging to UT of J&K and ST Certificate as a Domicile for candidates belonging to UT of Ladakh
  • Category Certificate, if any (applicable for Govt. Colleges/ Institutions only)
  • Registration Certificate issued by J&K Paramedical Council
  • Any other document as may be required by the Institution
