Mumbai:Panic spread across Mumbai Central late Saturday night afterNair Hospitalreceived abomb threat. An unidentified individual sent an email to the hospital dean warning of an explosive device on the premises. Authorities have since confirmed the threat was a hoax. According to Mumbai Police, the threatening email was sent by an unidentified individual to the official email ID of the hospital’s dean around 11 pm. The timing of the threat raised concerns, as it coincided with the high-footfall period of Ganesh Visarjan celebrations — a time when public places remain particularly crowded in the city. The man, who identified himself as an astrologer and allegedly a member of a Pakistan-based jihadi outfit, also claimed that 14 terrorists had infiltrated the city. The police seized seven mobile phones, three SIM cards, six memory card holders, an external SIM slot, two digital cards, and other electronic items from him, reportsNews 18.
