He said that the construction work of the AIIMS-Digha elevated bridge had been completed and the date of its inauguration would be decided soon.

The Minister directed the officials to keep a strict vigil on maintaining the quality of construction work of various ongoing projects in the state. Any compromise on quality of construction work of the project would not be tolerated at all, he warned.

Mr Pandey said that officials should regularly monitor the execution of projects and they should also carry out on-the-spot inspection. All attempts should be made to ensure that the project could be completed within the stipulated time frame, he added.

Mr. Pandey also took charge of the Art and Culture Department as he had been given the portfolio of this department as well, along with the Road Construction Department. During a review of the functioning of the department, he asked officials to work hard to ensure that Bihar could regain the past glory of its rich Art and Cultural heritage.

The department of Art and Culture had established its own identity in the last 15 years of the NDA government in the state, he said, adding that the Bihar government would make all efforts to promote cultural and sports activities in the state.

All steps would be taken to tap the potential of the younger generation, he noted.
