AIMSA Requests RGUHS for Result Declaration
Bengaluru: Referring to the fact that barely a month is left for the exams, the All India Medical Students' Association (AIMSA) has recently requested the Vice-Chancellor of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) to declare the result of the final-year MBBS students on the basis of the new evaluation scheme.
The association has recently pointed out the trouble that the final-year medicos are facing and urged the VC of the University to look into the matter. This comes after the MBBS students had filed a plea before the High Court seeking a new evaluation scheme.
Filing the case, the students had demanded revaluation and for considering the average of the best two. Even though the judge had given approval for the same, the University filed a review petition.
Referring to this, AIMSA mentioned in a recent Tweet, "But then later university went on a review petition considering the issue & again the court had dismissed the case saying it was clear and average of best two must be considered."
Pointing out that this whole process has been going on for the last two months, the association further added, "now just 35 days left for exams & yet results aren't announced yet..."

It had earlier reported that back in April 2022, the Karnataka HC had offered relief to around 109 MBBS students as it had directed RGUHS for conducting additional evaluations of the papers in which the students failed.
Such direction for conducting additional two evaluations had come from the HC bench after taking note of the fact that the University had conducted only two evaluations, instead of four evaluations, which is required as per the MCI regulations of 1997.
Upholding the Regulations, the HC bench comprising of Justice Suraj Govindaraj had offered relief to the medicos and also referred to the Regulation 13 of the erstwhile Medical Council of India Graduate Medical Education Regulation, 1997. As per the rules, in case there is a difference of 15% marks between the evaluators, a 5th evaluator needs to conduct the deviation evaluation as well.
