AIIMS Manglagiri, DGHS organise National Conclave on Patient safety- NMC issues notice for medical colleges

New Delhi-Through a public notice, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has informed that the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Mangalagiri, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Health Services (Ministry of Health and Family Welfare), Government of India, is organising a two-day National Conclave on 'Prioritising Patient Safety in Health Institutions in India' on 19th and 20th September 2025 at AIIMS Mangalagiri (Andhra Pradesh). Therefore, the Travel and Stay (TA/DA) has to be borne by the respective parent institutions/state. For all logistical arrangements (except travel and stay), the participants are requested to kindly fill Google Form, the link to which is mentioned in the notice. As per the public notice, it has been informed that the deliberations in the Conclave shall help Medical Colleges to establish a culture of Patient safety in their hospital/institution, cultivate an ethos of high-quality, responsible healthcare by preventing harm. This shall help in enhancing patient satisfaction, low morbidity and mortality rates, reduction in hospital re-admission rates, minimal infections or errors, reduced communication failure, improved long-term quality of post-treatment, effectiveness & timeliness of care, reduced cost and positive patient experience. The notice further stated that the discussion will be on different domains of patient safety, i.e. Medication Safety, Surgical Safety, Infection Prevention and Control, Antimicrobial resistance, Laboratory and Diagnostic safety, safe blood transfusion practices, Medical devices and vaccine safety, Fire and structural safety, Biomedical waste management, etc. The experience sharing and cross learning shall be highly useful to many newly established medical colleges / institutions.
