7-Yr Old Girl Tests Japanese Encephalitis (JE) Positive In Indore

First Case of Japanese Encephalitis Reported in Indore

The state of Indore reported its first positive case of Japanese Encephalitis (JE), with samples of a 7-year-old girl from Shanti Nagar testing positive for the deadly vector-borne disease. The girl is reported to be in a comatose state and is under constant observation at the MY Hospital in the state.

According to Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr. S. Porwal, CSF samples of the girl were sent to a Pune laboratory where they tested positive. “We have already conducted a survey of the Shanti Nagar locality on Monday and are keeping an eye on her condition constantly.”
