51 Nurses Conferred With National Florence Nightingale Awards For Selfless Contribution To Strengthen Healthcare Delivery

New Delhi: 51 nursing officers from across the country were felicitated with the National Florence Nightingale Award 2021 by President Smt Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan for their exemplary contribution to strengthening healthcare delivery.

The National Florence Nightingale Awards were instituted in the year 1973 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, as a mark of recognition for the meritorious services rendered by nurses and nursing professionals to the society.

Taking to Twitter, the President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, said that the COVID-19 pandemic has shown the world the formidable spirit of our nurses.

"The contribution of nurses in strengthening healthcare delivery has been exemplary. These awardees will inspire young nurses and midwives in the country to work with commitment and compassion for the betterment of fellow citizens. My best wishes to the entire nursing fraternity." – the President further added.
