Srinagar:After discovering that doctors from Pulwama were allegedly involved in the “white-collar” inter-state terror module, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with intelligence agencies, have detained threedoctorsfor questioning to find out any possible links with those suspected in theRed Fort car blastcase. According to a recent report by The New Indian Express (TNIE), two doctors have been picked up for questioning as they are said to be friends of the doctor who drove the Hyundai i20 that exploded near Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday, killing eight people, a toll that has now risen to 13 and injuring several others. Another doctor from Pulwama, who allegedly knew the accused and worked at a Delhi hospital, was also detained from his home in south Kashmir. This comes after the Jammu and Kashmir Police and intelligence agencies began conducting detailed background checks on doctors who were directly or indirectly connected to the arrested or suspected doctors. Speaking toTNIE, a police officer said, “Police are conducting a check on doctors who were classmates or close associates of the trio. This includes those who studied with them at Government Medical College Srinagar, as well as those who worked with them at GMC Anantnag before they moved out of Jammu and Kashmir." Another officer said, "The background check aims to ensure that no professional or financial links to the suspected terror module are overlooked. Over a dozen doctors from the Valley have been questioned. The interrogations are being carried out to ascertain whether any of them were aware of, or inadvertently aided, the activities of the module." “We are tracing communication trails to ensure there are no hidden links to the terror network or the Delhi blast,” said a police officer.
